Apple will hold its annual iPhone launch event on Wednesday, September 9, and is expected to reveal its first foldable iPhone after years of speculation about entering the foldable smartphone market.
The event, titled “Surprise and shine,” will begin at 10 a.m. PDT. Apple will stream the presentation online, allowing viewers worldwide to follow the company’s latest hardware announcements.
Fans can watch the event through Apple’s official YouTube livestream or through the company’s Apple Events website.
Foldable iPhone Expected to Lead the Event
The biggest expected announcement is Apple’s first foldable smartphone, reportedly called the iPhone Ultra. The device would mark Apple’s entry into a category that competitors have already explored for several years.
Alongside the foldable model, Apple is expected to introduce new premium smartphones, including the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Reports suggest the standard iPhone 18 may follow later rather than launching during the September event.
Reports on Apple’s iPhone release plans indicate the company may change its usual smartphone launch schedule.
Other Hardware Announcements Expected
Apple may also announce updates across other product categories, including new Apple Watch models, refreshed HomePod devices and AirPods with additional features.
The event will also mark the first major Apple product launch under new CEO John Ternus after longtime CEO Tim Cook stepped down from the role.
The September presentation is expected to provide an early look at Apple’s next hardware strategy as the company introduces new product designs and updates across its ecosystem.
