FaZe Clan’s Future Uncertain After Influencers Exit

FaZe Clan faces uncertainty after six influencers announce their departure following unsuccessful contract negotiations with the organisation’s new management.

The future of esports organisation FaZe Clan is in question after several of its prominent influencers announced their departure following failed contract negotiations with the group’s new leadership.

According to Bloomberg, influencers known as Adapt, Jason, Ronaldo, Lacy, Rage, and Silky — currently listed as the full roster on the FaZe Clan website — have all confirmed that they are leaving the organisation.

Adapt shared his thoughts on X, noting that he had been part of FaZe Clan for 14 years. “Over half of my life, I’d be lying if I said this didn’t hurt, but it had to be done,” he wrote.

Another former FaZe Clan member who exited the group in August previously described the situation as one in which influencers felt they had little autonomy. He said they had “no control, and it’s like we’re puppets.”

Reports indicate that the departing influencers had been in discussions with HardScope, a FaZe Clan investor, and its CEO, Matt Kalish, for approximately six months. Despite the departures, Kalish has said he intends to continue operating the organisation without the influencers who left.

“My best guess is they’re all good kids and have a lot of people in their ear and are confused,” Kalish told Bloomberg. He also stated that FaZe Clan’s current financial model is “unsustainable.”

FaZe Clan went public in 2022 but was acquired by GameSquare for $17 million the following year. After the acquisition, the company’s chief executive officer was dismissed.
