Kalshi introduces Threads sharing feature in a boost for Meta’s platform

Prediction market platform Kalshi adds a Threads sharing option, signalling growing confidence in Meta’s social platform as engagement and user activity continue to rise.

Prediction market platform Kalshi is making it easier for users to participate in conversations on Meta’s social network Threads. The company now includes a sharing option that automatically embeds the relevant prediction market chart into a Threads post.

Whether users want to talk about who might win Best Picture or which reality TV contestant could be sent home next, and potentially place a bet on the outcome through Kalshi, the company said in a blog post that “with this integration, people can share their opinions alongside the forecasts they’re seeing on Kalshi.”

The move mirrors a social media strategy that has worked well for both Kalshi and its biggest competitor, Polymarket, on X. However, Kalshi’s relationship with X has become more complicated in recent months. In June, X named Polymarket as its “official” prediction market partner.

Last month, Kalshi removed affiliate badges from X accounts operated by its sponsored traders. That happened after X introduced a policy banning sponsored accounts from posting about sports betting. The policy was adopted after prediction markets were reportedly found to have partnered with fake sports insiders who were spreading misinformation.

Although this new share button is not as significant as the arrangements that Reddit market platforms have with X, it still represents a meaningful sign of support for the rival platform, just a few months after user data suggested that Threads was growing faster than X.
